Orlando Science Center KidsTown

Project Overview

McCree was hired to complete the renovation of the Orlando Science Center 2nd floor to provide patrons with a new “Kids Town” designed for entertaining young children in an open education hands-on atmosphere. The construction included demolition of the existing space, rewiring, new plumbing, new walls and partitions, two new bathrooms, flooring, finishes, built ins and numerous interactive centers throughout the space. Construction took place while the Orlando Science Center remained in full operation. McCree and all the crews committed to keeping the disruption of construction to a minimum and worked closely with staff to coordinate activities. As general contractor, McCree focused on disciplined field execution, coordination, and craftsmanship to deliver the work efficiently and with minimal disruption. The result is an engaging destination that balances performance, flexibility, and visitor experience.

Client Testimonial
New KidsTown was the largest and most ambitious project with 11,000 square feet of hands-on experiences for little learners, infant to age 7. This exhibit premiered last year to great fanfare and positive visitor response. McCree was a valuable partner during the construction phase. We have been extremely pleased with the results of this project. It was completed on time and on budget and we were very impressed with the workmanship and attention to quality details.
