First United Methodist Church of Tavares

When First United Methodist Church of Tavares’ sanctuary burned down they opted for the traditional method of construction and hired an architect to rebuild their parish. They contacted McCree when it came time to bid their project to contractors. McCree does not normally do hard-bid work, but due to the nature of the project we decided to take a look at their plans anyway. We immediately recognized problems with the plans and the church’s established budget. Through McCree’s design-build approach, planning, design, and construction stayed aligned around budget, constructability, and long-term performance. The completed facility feels welcoming and durable, with an emphasis on long-term use and community connection.
