Fourth-generation family firm marks a century of impact while designing the next era of Florida’s growth
McCree General Contractors & Architects (McCree), a cornerstone of Florida’s built environment for a century, announces the launch of its centennial celebration, marking 100 years of structures that have shaped the region’s communities since Jan. 25, 1926. This milestone honors the people and partners behind that legacy while underscoring McCree’s continued investment in designing, building and developing the region and its future workforce.
“Being part of Florida’s physical and economic story for 100 years is both a privilege and a responsibility,” said Richard McCree Jr., CEO of McCree General Contractors & Architects. “For a century our community has trusted us to deliver some of its most essential spaces—from schools and civic buildings to cultural venues and healthcare facilities. Our centennial is about honoring that trust while continuing to build places that strengthen our state for generations to come.”
McCree’s centennial is designed as a yearlong celebration of the community itself, recognizing the people, neighborhoods and shared spaces that have grown alongside the region over the past 100 years. Its portfolio highlights the firm’s expansive contributions to the quality of life and infrastructure throughout Florida.
“Chances are if you’ve lived or worked in Florida for more than a few years, you’ve been inside a McCree-built building,” said McCree Jr. “Each project represents a partnership with our clients and community and a commitment to quality that began with our founder and continues today.”
As an integrated design-build firm, a model McCree championed in 1959 in Orlando, the company’s collaborative approach unifies architecture, engineering, construction and client advocacy under one roof. This work directly supports schools, fire stations, healthcare facilities, community centers, places of worship, retail and office spaces across the state of Florida.
Throughout its centennial year, McCree will mark the milestone with community-focused celebrations that recognize the people, partners and neighborhoods that have shaped the company’s first 100 years. The company will also unveil its latest book on McCree history, anniversary logo, a video series and more. The 100th anniversary will spotlight shared spaces and local experiences, inviting the community to reflect on how Florida has grown alongside the built environment and how thoughtful design and construction can continue to strengthen the region in the years ahead.
