McCree Completes Orlando Health – SODO 1st & 2nd

McCree General Contractors, Inc., along with Fred M. Humphrey & Associates, Inc., recently completed two projects for Orlando Health on the first and second floors of the organization’s SODO location, 45 West Crystal Lake, Suite 200 and 30 West Grant Street, Suite 140, Orlando, Florida 32806.

Orlando Health is one of Florida’s most comprehensive private, not-for-profit healthcare networks, based in Orlando, Florida. Ever growing, Orlando Health is now a 2,100-plus-bed family of facilities, comprised of Orlando Regional Medical Center, Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children, Winnie Palmer Hospital for Women & Babies, MD Anderson Cancer Center Orlando, Dr. P. Phillips Hospital, South Seminole Hospital, Orlando Health Foundation, Cancer Research Institute, Graduate Medical Education, Orlando Health Transition Services, and, most recently, Health Central. The substantial growth Orlando Health has gone through in the past few years has not only provided jobs for the Central Florida community, but has also positively affected the economy. With all this growth, Orlando Health had a need for new and updated Health Education and Strategic Communications spaces.

The new SODO complex where the project is located is expanding and revitalizing Downtown Orlando. It also has excellent accessibility to the Orlando Health Downtown campus. This was the perfect location for McCree to build the organization’s Health Education and Strategic Communications facilities. Construction began for both projects in August and September of 2011, respectfully, and were both completed and occupied by Orlando Health by December of 2011. The first floor project now houses Orlando Health’s 24,000 square foot Health Education segment, while the second floor houses the 10,500 square foot Strategic Communications. The $3 million projects both included new electrical and mechanical systems, lobby areas, offices, conference rooms, break rooms, and site work. With Ramski & Company as the interior designer, the project was completed with excellent quality and beautiful, modern finishes. McCree and Fred M. Humphrey & Associates completed the entire project with clean, modern interior finishes on time, within budget, and exceeding Orlando Health’s high quality expectations.
